Can a man who has known God and worked for Him for more than 39 years declare that Christ is not real, How can we explain his experience over the years?
In a recent news Churchpalaba publishes a report about a renowned pastor that renounced his faith, Christians across the globe has taken time to respond to his declaration; Let’s read their view from various social media platforms and learn from the incident.
Name: Olubunmi Ojo
Opinion : Being a Christian without encountering the person of The Christ Is incomplete, many people already thread this part, reading, praying, studying and preaching…without seeking the personality of the person behind the truth.
Jesus told the Pharisees during his days in John 5:39-40
“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”
So, it’s not enough to read and practice, seeking is the peak. Like the prayer of Paul I. Phillipians, that I may know Him, and the power of his Resurrection and The fellowship of his suffering.
In his post, I didn’t see where or how he diligently sought the Lord Jesus, he was looking for answers… But Jesus is the answer for the world today.
Name: Iris Oppong
Opinion: ‘In 40 years I never witnessed a single event that was supernatural.’ The above statement he made shows that he never encountered the Person of Jesus. He was never born again.
Becoming a christian is a supernatural experience. We need to pray for him to experience that inner transformation as a result of encountering Christ in a personal way.
Opinion: Okay you’ve successfully apologized to man guess you know what to tell christ when you finally meet him cuz all I know is whosoever lays hand on the plough and looks back is not fit. You chose to abandon a mandate given to you probably because a very smart atheist had a chat with u or cuz u ain’t fortunate enough to possess the riches some other pastors flaunt. I guess you would have sworn that you’ll die a pastor if u could afford at least a private jet. Well, I’m not your judge
Opinion : The word of God says” God is a spirit and those that will worship him will worship in truth Andi in the spirit. ”
“He that is born of the flesh is of the flesh; he that is born of the spirit is of the spirit”
It does not matter what a man says – the reality of God is most glaring to the chosen ones!
When a relationship between the living God and a man is forged, it is an unforgettable, irrepressible and practical: among all experiences, it is most convincingly indelible!
The revelation is engineered by the Almighty God: he chooses whom he wishes to be given as an eternal gift! Most blessed are those who are chosen to be safe through the only king of glory – Christ Jesus
Opinion: The summary of what i read is that he was serving God in order to satisfy his SELFISH DESIRES. Anticipation for the supernatural is not a guarantee that you love God.
Although the promise for the supernatural is for all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, but we must understand that there is a difference between a NORMAL CHILD AND A NORMAL ADULT even though they possess the same external and internal features OR A PRINCE AND A KING EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE GOING TO POSSESS ONE THRONE and I would have advice he learn from his colleagues and other predecessors.
Lol…… The manifestation of the supernatural is not even a guarantee that you are or will be accepted by God. (Matthew 7:21-22). Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2).
God works and will continue to work not according to the ways or thoughts of men but according to His own perfect will.
Now that he is now an apostate, I pray he sees the true light of the Holy Spirit once more before his death or else he will be rejected, draw nigh to a curse whose end is to be burned (Hebrews 6:cool even though he will be ETERNALLY SAVED but before then he should also note that there is a great difference between between a CHURCH GOER AND A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN.
Opinion: They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. John 2:19
He suffered from imposed faith. His parents were bad examples yet they imposed Christianity on him & that is the result. He wasn’t convicted. From day one he was hoping for a miracle that will make him a believer. God doesn’t impose only humans do.
I sincerely sympathise with him. He is not living in a real world. His parents were abusive, his marriage didn’t work out neither did his ministry. He wasnt fulfilled & he thinks there’s a world he will find fulfilment without fighting for it. That is Utopian
That one is a Christian doesn’t immunize you from the vicissitudes of life. The difference between a Christian & a non believer is that your life is surrendered to the leadership of the Trinity. If you’re convicted you will not fake it hoping it will become real. You will be real to yourself & God. You may not be able to make others believe you’re real but that is human nature.
Whether he goes anywhere there will still be some unanswered questions. One day I’ll meet my Jesus & ask Him any question I didn’t find answer here on earth & I believe He will clarify. If in the end I discover there is no God at least I lived a meaningful life here on earth except you dont believe christian life style isn’t good.
In the light of the scriptures
From Jesus response to the Pharisees in Mark 7:21 we can see that the heart of a Man is great determinant of his action.
We have the mandate to keep our heart with God by guiding what comes into it through our ear(the things we listen to) and eyes(the things we read and watch)
From Dave’s reason for renouncing Christ it is evident that he did not understand God and that the contents of his heart were not rightly guided, he mentioned in his reasons that he has read some books while he was young that made him doubt Christ.
We will not be blind to the fact that he said he found love and acceptance among the unbelievers, this points at why believers should express brotherly love. Hebrews 13:1 cries our for this.
God’s response to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 4:22 is of need here:
“For my people are foolish they have not known me, they are silly children and they have no understanding, they are wise to do evil but to do good they have no knowledge”
The above verse points to us that any Christian who does not have the understanding of God will definitely do stupid things, such a person will do evil things because that don’t have the knowledge of the right thing.
Knowledge of the right thing comes from adequate understanding of God.
As believers we should seek to understand God day by day so that by so doing we will have the knowledge of what is right and pleasing to Him. And from our understanding of Him we will have answers to all questions in our heart.
We beg God to give brother Dave Gass an unrestricted understanding of Himself and restore him to Christ permanently. Amen!
May the lord keep us continually.
Dear reader, what can separate you from the love of Christ?
