New approach to raising a child is being embraced among mothers in the US.

Actress Kate Hudson an American actress, author and fashion designer recently revealed in an interview with AOL that she will raise her baby daughter to be “genderless.”

“We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as,” Hudson said.

Hudson gave birth to her newborn daughter, Rani Rose, last October. She is also the mother of two boys, ages 14 and 17.

She said this when asked if raising her daughter was different from raising her two sons.

Hudson said “it doesn’t really change my approach, but there’s definitely a difference.”

“I think you just raise your kids individually regardless – like a genderless [approach],” she added.

“I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds and her way,” Hudson went on to say. “It’s very different from the boys, and it’s really fun to actually want to buy kids’ clothes.”

Hudson’s interview comes as a number of states – including California, Washington, and Oregon – have ushered in legislation that provides those who do not identify as either male or female to choose a third category for their birth certificates.

The term given to genderless approach to raising a child is called “theybies” – parents refer to their child as they, them, their.

Speaking with churchpalaba Yeni Rose a Christian blogger said “it is not wrong to teach a young girl how to be strong and a young boy how to be kind and sensitive but trying to erase nature is fundamentally wrong”

” The child will grow to be identified as the original person God made, whether a male or a female, the idea of choosing a third category as one’s gender is temporal and cannot be established ” she continued.
