The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor William Kumuyi has cautioned doom sayers to stop negative predictions over the 2019 general elections.

He assured God will rise and save the nation from its present challenges.

Kumuyi, who alluded to scriptural references to buttress his point, passionately last week in an address to a large number of leaders of the church in Lagos.

His message was also transmitted live across the entire country and beyond.

In a message titled “Passionate prayer by the godly for the nation, he said it was time for national rebirth.

He lamented some prophets were seeing dangers and saying the nation will disintegrate over the polls.

He took a swipe at the prophets of dooms, saying God will show up in His mercy and Nigeria shall be saved.

He appealed to Christians not to relent but continue in their intercession for Nigeria to overcome its predicaments.

Kumuyi stressed: “ As we pray, wait on the Lord and make supplication for our nation, the Lord will answer the prayer.

“Praying and interceding for people can turn the condition around for the better. It can be done, it will be done.

“By prayer, what we cannot do because we are not among the people who are taken decisions, by prayer, we can turn the hands of the Almighty God and the hands of God can move our nation in the right direction.

“Great things God can do when intercessors pray for their nation. Abraham prayed for Sodom and Gomorrah, Moses – interceded and prayed for a whole nation of Israel.”

He added: “Like Daniel, we should pray and stop accusing anyone or group of people as the cause of the national problem.

“This land, this nation would be healed; there will revival of everything we have ever hoped for.

“We need to pray like Daniel prayed for his nation. Great things will happen when multiple Daniels pray for the country and turn things around for good, divine attention will come and God will wipe away the tears of our nation.”
